Lynn Loris Owens, Psy.D., J.D., is a psychologist licensed in Maryland. She has a B.A. from Columbia University and a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from George Washington University. Dr. Owens completed her clinical psychology internship at the University of Virginia’s Counseling Center. Prior to becoming a psychologist, she was a practicing attorney, receiving her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Owens focuses on psychotherapy for adults and senior adults who are grappling with depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, interpersonal problems, career and academic challenges, and grief and loss. She also works with couples dealing with conflicts in their relationships.
Dr. Owens’ therapeutic style is collaborative. Her orientation is integrative—with an emphasis on psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies—which allows her to individualize treatment to meet each client’s unique personality, concerns, and needs.
